Lin Ngau Chow Ngau Yook
fried beef with lotus
Ingredients:
250 gr beef tenderloin
1 tbsp light soy sauce
1/2 tsp salt
2 cloves of garlic
1 cm jahe
1/4 tsp five spice powder (see recipe)
125 ml beef stock (see recipe)
1 tbsp cornflour + 2 tbsp water
12 slices of lotus root
2 tbsp oil
Preparation:
Cut the meat into thin slices. Finely chop the garlic. Grate the jahe. Mix the soy sauce with the salt, garlic, jahe and five spice powder, then mix in the meat.
Heat the oil in a pan and add the seasoned meat and fry until the meat changes color. Then add the stock followed by the cornflour solution and stir until the sauce comes to a boil. Then add the lotus and cook until done. Serve.
