Sayur Godog Betawi (Sunda)
stewed vegetables in a spicy sauce
1 labu siam / chayote
1 bunch long/snake beans
2 potatoes
200 gr beef (breast steak)
3 salam leaf
5 cm lengkuas/laos/galangal
300 ml coconut milk (from 1/2 coconut)
500ml water
2 tbsp oil

5 shallots
4 cloves of garlic
4 red lomboks
3 kemiri nuts
1 tsp terasi/trasi
2 tsp palm sugar
1 tsp salt

Cara membuat:
Cut the chayote into small cubes. Cut the long beans into small pieces. Cut the potatoes into small cubes. Pound or grind the ingredients for the bumbu into a paste.
Heat the water in a pan with the meat and cook until tender. Remove the meat from the pan and cut it into small pieces. Then add it back to the broth.
Heat in a pan the oil and fry the bumbu together with the salam and the lengkuas for 5 minutes and add it to the stock and bring to the boil.
Then add the chayote, long beans, potatoes and coconut milk and cook until done. Serve.
