Tinolang Manok
stewed chicken with ginger
Ingredients:
1000 gr chicken
1 papaya
9 cm jahe (ginger)
11 dahon ng sili (chili leaves)
1000 ml water
6 cloves garlic
1 red onion
2 tbsp fishsauce
4 tbsp oil
Preperation/method:
Slice the chicken into pieces, the papaya into strips and grate the jahe. Slice the onion and the garlic fine. Heat in a pan the oil and fry the garlic, the onion and the jahe for 3 minutes. Add the water and the chicken and let it simmer slowly for 25 minutes. Add the fishsauce, the papaya and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Mix in the chili leaves and serve.
