Nahm Prik Ohng
spicy meat sauce with raw vegetables
Ingredients:
10 dries rawits
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp shrimp paste
2 shallots
5 clvoes garlic
1 tbsp oil
125 gr pork
20 cherry tomatoes
1 tbsp fish sauce (nam pla)
1 tsp palmsugar
2 small cucumbers
10 string beans
1/2 small green cabbage
preperation/method:
Chop the meat into a mince. Slice the tomatoes in small parts, the cucumbers sideways in small ovals and the string beans in small parts. Slice the cabba into small wedges. Soak the rawits for 20 minutes in warm water. Pound or grind the rawits, the salt, the garlic, the shrimp paste and the shallots fine into a paste.
Heat in a wok the oil and fry the paste for 3 minutes. Add the meat and fry it. Then add the tomatoes and fry it for 4 minutes. Add the nam pla and the palmsugar and let it simmer for 2 minutes. Let it cool down and pour it in a bowl.
Serve the vegatables with the sauce as a dip or with rice.
