Jiao Yan Dou Fu - 椒盐豆腐
fried tofu with salt and pepper
Ingredients:
350 g tahu/tofu
2 tbsp flour
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt and pepper powder, see recipe
oil
Ingredients strir-fry:
2 shallots
3 red lomboks
7 cloves of garlic
1 spring onion
1/2 tsp salt and pepper powder, see recipe
Preparation:
Cut the tofu into cubes and pat dry. Mix the flour, cornstarch, baking powder together with the salt and pepper powder. Mix the tofu cubes into the mixture and remove the excess mixture.
Heat the oil in a pan and fry the tofu until golden brown on all sides and then let it drain on kitchen paper.
Finely chop the shallots, garlic and lomboks. Finely chop the spring onion. Heat 1/2 tbsp of the used oil in a pan and fry the shallots, garlic and lomboks on medium heat for 1 minute. Then add the tofu, spring onion and salt and pepper powder and mix well. Serve.
